Boosting Application Speed with In-Memory Caching

Redis is an in-memory key-value data store frequently deployed as a caching layer to lighten the load on primary relational databases.

The Cache-Aside Strategy

  1. The app checks if requested data exists in Redis.

  2. If found (Cache Hit), the data returns instantly.

  3. If missing (Cache Miss), the app queries SQL, caches the result in Redis, and then serves the response.
